  • Basilectal – associated with less educated people
  • Mesolectal/acrolectal – associated with more educated people

What are the language families in Ghana? There is one big one: Niger-Congo, but three subfamilies.

Language Families: all Niger-Congo , but three subfamilies: Kwa, Mande and Gur.

Éwé and Akan are both Kwa languages.
